COACHING STAFF
GILLIAN ESSON
Gillian is the director and founder of SST. She attended Burke Mountain Academy and went on to race for the Ontario Provincial Team and Canadian Development Team. Gillian has her masters of Kinesiology in Coaching Science and under graduate degree in Early Childhood Education. She brings over 30 years of coaching experience to the team. She has coached in Ontario, Alberta and Washington state, at development and performance and elite levels. She was the head U14 coach for the Paskapoo Ski team in AB and at SPAC for 4 years before starting SST. Gillian has her USSA level 300 coaching, Referee and TD certifications. She is also a level 3 Canadian Ski Coach and level 3 Canadian Ski Instructor. Gilly serves on the PNSA Board of Directors, Skykomish Parks Board and works as a substitute schoolteacher during the week. In her free time, Gilly likes to spend time outdoors with her children.
SEAN BUSBY
Sean grew up racing on the Mammoth Mountain Ski Team in California. After completing his degree in Mechanical Engineering at University of Utah, he moved to the Pacific Northwest and has worked as a Control Systems Engineer in Seattle for the past 10 years. He now owns his own Engineering company and is coming back for his ninth season coaching SST.
